DDP is another word (an Incoterm) for foreign trade that stands for Delivered Duty Paid. In many respects, it is very similar to DAP except that DDP reflects for the seller the full liability of cost and risk estimation from start to finish. For a delivery based on DDP (delivered duty paid), the seller must deliver the goods at their own expense and risk to a destination in the import country, taking care of all formalities and paying all import duties in addition to all costs.

DPU vs DDP: The Difference Now that we have read about both h DPU and DDP, we can talk about how these are different. As you might have guessed, in a DDP agreement, the seller is responsible for paying all the payments of the import process. whereas, in DPU, the seller is only responsible for preparing the goods for clearance and is not responsible for paying any of the fees.

It’s quite similar in many ways to DAP except that DDP shipping terms represent the maximum responsibility in costs and risk assumption from beginning to end for the seller.
